Bob is a native of the Boston area, where he inherited and cultivated an affection for all local sports teams, especially The Sox!
His undergraduate degree is from Eastern Nazarene College, Wollaston, MA, where he majored in philosophy and religion. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1979, with a concentration in preaching and worship, and upon graduating was awarded the John T. Galloway Prize in Expository Preaching.
In 2010, he finished his thesis on Renewing the Presbyterian Church USA, and was awarded the Doctor of Ministry degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
He has been the pastor of PHPC since 1985, when he was called away from his first pastorate at the Manokin PC, Princess Anne, MD.
Bob loves to preach and lead in worship, and enjoys being used by God to grow the faith in others. An avid reader, occasional fisherman, and recreational target shooter, he also enjoys regular visits to the local fitness center and hopes to keep his metabolism in shape for chasing after the young 'uns!
He is married to Carol Diamond, and together they have four children and four grandchildren.
